I have a 2001 Mercedes C240. When the engine is running with car stopped you can feel a bit of trembling. It also cuts off during driving and this happens at slow speeds only. Like when I will take the foot off the pedal crossing roundabouts or stop at the traffic lights.
I had the car checked using the computer and it came up with pedal sensor fault which I have replaced with a brand new one but the problem went away for about 5 days and is now back again.
Whenever it stops I have to turn the engine off and back on and it is fine. It also does not cut off if I keep the engine at high revs.
It does not always stop the engine though. Sometimes the car has lost power the engine is still on but does not move as it takes no power from the accelerator. When I switch it off and back on it is fine.
I have recently also changed all the plugs, air mass sensor and the accelerator pedal.
Can you someone help?
Some of the forurms are suggesting it could be crank sensor but as the car starts immediatly I don't think it is but I am no expert at this so need some help.
