I had a E350 Sport (albeit saloon) on lease, a 2010 model. Nice enough cruiser, easily saw late 40's all day long and easily capable of doing long distances without sucking the life out of you. Its a bit plasticky and has more road noise than a Merc should compared to Mercs of old but decent enough by modern standards. The engine also has a decent amount of easily accessible performance making it quite flexible and further making it more relaxing to drive.

At the time, I didn't know this, until I came onto the forum, but its worth noting, when the gearbox is in 'comfort' it sets off from a standstill in 2nd gear unless you you give it a bit.

Any things to look out for on the e350 coupe .... I can’t seem to find much just on things about pan roof seals and alloys easy to scuff ? Thank you
I have the 350 saloon, no problems with the pan roof in 8 years. Yes the alloys are easy to scuff.
Only one fault in that time, the turbo boost sensor oil seal failed at about 40K.

VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone
Depending on the milage check if the automatic transmission fluid and filter have been changed. Some don't bother and that can lead to issues.

Otherwise the cars are pretty bullet proof and should generally only need consumables, as in, service items, brake items and tyres.

Had my petrol one 18 months now and am very happy with it.

Avoid 19 inch wheels (look great, ride shite) and as above, get a pano roof, the ATF changed and allow space to open the wide doors when parking.

Then enjoy (esp with a six pot!)

Not very happy.
Just been told the e350 is not coming into stock now but they have got an e220 coupe .... not sure whether to go look at it ? Are they under powered as I had a c220 which was ok but in an E class ?

The E Class Coupe of that era (C207) is actually built on the C Class (204j platform so it is rather smaller than the E Saloon and should be very similar, performance wise, to the C220 which you had. But, having had a 350 myself, I can only agree with @vtaylor78

I’m also happy with 19s , but I am paranoid about hitting potholes.

With no disrespect to owners of a 220, I test drove an E220 CDI cabriolet and the lack of power and torque just didn't cut the mustard for me, so it had to be the smoother, torque of the E350 CDI.

There’s plenty around, perhaps not the spec or FSH you want, but test drive a 220 and a 350 then you can make a decision about which to look for.

Whilst the 220 will have adequate power in the real world, it will sound like a tractor (by comparison) but more importantly most 350s will have a much better spec from new / as standard.

For those on 19s, respect, but your roads must be sooo much better than the test drive routes around Pompey and Southampton I tried with the two 19 equipped coupes I drove. Still, a driver of an S class would complain about the ride on my 18s, so it's horse for courses

Very much agreed, its your own preferences. I run 18" summer, & 17" winter.

That's why the 350CDI is the that is recommended here. I went straight to the 350 after some sound advice. The engine pulls with little effort and you can sit at around 1700 rmp's on long motorway trips.

Very much personal taste. Personally, I wouldn't want a cruising car with a harder ride than our Avantgarde spec E-class on 17" wheels.

True buddy , but GAD tuners recently had one that had some impressive gains . When I saw hours post I remember thinking I wouldn't rule out the 220 without some serious thought .
