Mercedes Alarm key

My standard Mercedes alarm has a disarming key/lock system. Needless to say the previous owner did not pass the key on to me. If I disconect the battery for maintenance the internal alarm battery sounds the alarm. Any suggestions/experience as to whats involved in getting a key for this unit from the dealer??? Whats involved???? thanks
