Only had my car for two weeks and some friendly ***soul decided to force my near side wing mirror in the direction of the front of the car. This resulted in the plastic housing becoming detached and found lying in the gutter.
Luckly I've been able to re attach the housing. The only damage appears to be slight scratching to the paint and my temper!
Must be the "christmas spirit" or does this happen all the time with with mercedes cars?

it doesnt matter what type of car it is,

if someone wants to damage it, they will

you were just unlucky

say a prayer for the person involved, maybe they had a lot on their plate

cheers

I think you will find these kind souls (MORONS ) are not car specific, you just need to be parked in the wrong place at the wrong time. I used to get into plenty of trouble as a kid but never thought of damaging someones property as a way to have fun. A guy down the street has just lost both of his wing mirrors and they look as if they were knocked off with a baseball bat. (His car was a Peugot)

I had morons walk over my Volvo when I had it (only a few weeks old at the time), dented the bonnet and scratched the roof and the boot.

I don't really do religion but right along there with turning the other cheek doesn't that book thingy say something about an eye for an eye?

Agreed.

Some vandals decided to attack my 1989 Nova, a Nova ...

Oh well. I was paranoid about the star going walkies, but it's been ok. Nothing much really happens in a village like this :)

I came out of a bar recently to find some silly bint laying on my TVR bonnet. It's funny, I've never mistaken it for a bed!

Yep. It comes where Jesus says ' you have been told an eye for an eye, but I say unto you turn the other cheek'. He also worked on the Sabbath contrary to one of the commandments, and was regularly criticised for doing so. He clearly meant to give a new teaching and correct the old. Oddly a lot of his teaching is lost on many devout Christians who go on opposing people working on Sundays (my wife is a nurse and knows lives depend on Sunday working); and preach that every word in the bible is literally true even where the Old Testament contradicts Jesus's teachings. But, heh, it's Christmas and we're not supposed to mention these things now are we?

My eldest daughter had darts stuck in the sidewalls of all four runflat tyres on her BMW Mini. All ruined. Can't repair walls and they cost £150 each. Believe me she was not saying 'hug a hoodie'. What is so awful is if vandals keep coming back the excess you pay on insurance means most of these smaller acts come out of the owner's pocket. Ordinary people simply harming other ordinary people. Madness.

One of the best Mercedes extras is the mirrors that fold away when you switch off the engine.

 I think that a lot of these morons that attack prestige marques think that the owner of the vehicle must have been very lucky that perhaps someone gave it them:confused: .....They don't think for a minute that the owner had to work really hard for it and have to save up the money for the deposit on it???
They(THE MORONS) spend any money they have on getting pi**ed every opportunity or doing the drugs:-x
Why not force these idiots to pay all the costs for any damage they cause, instead of the slapped wrist.......or perhaps the two weeks in the sun they get at the tax payers expense because THEY have been traumatised by it all?????????????

Rant over:D

.

well, there's a whole thread in itself. The current Christmas celbrations are (I belive) actually nicked from a pagan winter solstice ritual. change of calandars and all that.

Anyway, as a complete athiest I still love Christmas - but more from a family aspect, and people actually do have a tendancy to be nicer to each other at Christmas and I'm all for that. Apart from vandals of course, who should be put up against a wall.....;)

odd thing is though, that even as an athiest it makes me very cross when the "politically correct brigade" remove Christianity from Christmas. As Hawk says though, we're not supposed to mention such things

I think you give them too much credit. I don't believe "thinking" comes into it.

It's funny though, I remember someone once pointing out the difference between British and American attitudes to wealth. In the US a guy sees someone in a posh car and thinks "wow, look at that, I really want to be able to afford one of those one day". In the UK a guy sees someone in a posh car and thinks "bast*ard! Why should he have one of those when I cant. I'll show him......."

Interesting take on things. Not always true of course but I think it certainly has a certain ring of truth to it.

When I opened my shop and did well, long hours 9am till 10pm i bought a nice car, A neighbour one side walked by saying "he must be very good look at the nice car" ,the one living on the other side said "hur, look at all the money he is making out of us" Nd i think that says it all.

Wifes cousin has just bought an Audis S4 as he is a mortgage advisor and estate agent and didnt want people (who arent in the know about cars) thinking he had a flash Merc or BMW as they would have the attitude that their money was paying for it...
I said to him the same as Malcolm had said that well maybe people will have confidence that his business is doing well as he can afford a "good" car so dealing with him for their Busines.
He replied that sadly human nature now in most cases dont see things this way and are only jealous or put out that he has bigger and better material goods than them!!

On another note though the S4 is a cracking drive although I nearly burned his clutch out on my first shot!

I fully agree with you Omni!!...I guess I was being to kind to the morons:rolleyes: Two years ago at the age of 46 I suffered a stroke which came completely out of the blue considering that I was a very fit person.I thought i was dying and i was told I might have another fatal one sometime so
I decided to give myself a lifetimes treat and I re-mortgaged the house and bought a brand new £60.000 Range Rover. The car was fantastic and initially it made me feel a lot better. It wasn't long before i was getting all the abuse and snidy comments.I could see the hatred and jealousy in peoples eyes I couldn't stand it.I felt like I wanted to put a sign on the back of the car saying something like.."i am just an ordinary working guy who has just remortgaged his house for this car!I was coming into contact with people who were earning twice what I was and they still couldn't stand it.Expensive cars were being stolen in our area at the time particularly 4x4's-We live out in the middle of nowhere and every morning I would breath a sigh of relief when the car was still there. The whole episode was just to stressful so I sold the car within six months.I now drive a 1996 Land rover discovery and its great.Nobody hates you, infact you can see the smug look on some peoples faces thinking I've got a better car than he has what a poor chap:sad: What gives me a thrill though is the fact that the next time the sun comes out I have got a beautiful OLD 500SEL to take out of the garage and go for a spin:-D

Not you my friend, I bought mine because I'm sick of friends *leaving me forever* wishing they'd done *whatever*

I now drive the car I've wanted for a long time, people who know me tell me I deserve it, people I don't know............not my problem. Worked my dangly bits off for it, now own a nice motor and couldn't care less.

Find anyone messing with it and they'll never walk properly again. (Statement I'm prepared to back up)

Very lucky in that: -
A. Extremely quiet area :)
B. I'm not a nice person to mess with. (According to my Ex) I think I'm lovely
