While driving, top up brake fluid showed up and Dot4 plus used to top up.But brake pressure is lost when started the engine. There is no brake fluid leak.

Hello and welcome

If there’s no leak why was a fluid top up required?

I did not check the fluid level for a long time. But when removed the cap, fluid level was beyond minimum. While driving I experienced poor brakes. No idea how so much brake fluid was lost.when checked with OBD 2 , no codes registered.Having no brakes, gearshift is stuck at Park.

Erm its a sealed system. It doesnt evaporate or get used.
If its soo low its a leak.

Get it fixed ASAP.

Poor brakes are a death trap so dont be naive to think a refill will resolve the issue.

The only time to top up break fluid to the extent you describe is every two years after a flush and fill

fluid level goes down as break brake pads wear ....
Agreed, but I’ve never had it go down so much as to require topping up before changing pads.

also agreed, but then someone replacing fluid with new pads fitted might then leave the fluid level at half/min level

Not to below min, the circuit needs checking.
It might go down as pads wear, but then should go up as pads are replaced....

manufactureres are not so stupid that the min level is less than the effect of having worn pads.

Just poor maintenance if you ask me

Sorry guys, there was a leak underneath the chassis protected cover.Corroded and split brake line leaking gently .I had many cars in my life and did not expect this on a Mercedes.Got it fixed at a great cost.
There is a code though on obd2 poo68 and engine light is on.When reset, it comes back after few miles. Is it because a dirty MAF?Any clues Much appreciated.
