Was it a mercedes dealer?
if Y

You will have mobilo and warranty so call the dealer and/or the number on the door jamb for MB roadside assistance (it contains lots of 7's).

As a side is there an instruction manual with the car for reference on what fhe above could be.

Thanks for the reply Mioba…
I bought it from DW leisure - independent Mercedes dealer and they say to provide their own warranty for 6 months …

yes there is an instruction manual but could not find the exact warning symbol in the book…

I called the dealer and he says he will forward the issue to workshop and get back in a day or two….

worried that the vehicle got this issue so quickly

6 months warranties are not worth the paper they are written in - its only consumer confidence as you are protected by statute (ie law).

The warranties are only good for the selling dealer as they use it to claw back costs they may incur if things go wrong.

Sadly some dealers get a car as seen, knowing it may have a fault, dont invest in the repair upfront, sell it with the warranty, then claim off that.

Get it back to the seller. looking at thier website they should know the marque well enough to get it resolved.

Keep us posted

Dealer Called back and said they need a new device/ tool to diagnose and seems they ordered and got the device … after diagnosis they said the engine (water)cooler/ heater element which passes cold water or warm water /coolant based on the engine condition, needs to be replaced… they have ordered the element from Germany it seems … seems like the error was internal resistance due to this…
The vehicle is drive 50,000 miles 2016 Nov registration …
Just a bit worried how the c class 350e works after this mileage… is there any other parts/ areas that could need to be looked at … just to that there Is peace of mind ….

get it fixed and if it solves the issue you are good to go, seems odd tbf that a battery light is a coolant circuit. Battery light is usually charging circuit related.

Also susrprised they said they need a diags tool as they on thier website profess to be a merc specialists.

But give them the benefit of doubt, in the mean time find a reputable MB indyr near you for the future.

MB indy, a garage specialising in the maintenance of mercedes cars only and is an independent garage from the main franchised dealers - hence MB indy. As they only specialise in such cars they are very familiar with the brand and pitfalls and labour is much cheaper than MB franchises. A good indy will use genuine parts - which is what you should do and have access to MB diagnostics and databases.

MB service plans cover only annual services and would not cover what appears to be your issue(s). Look on the MB website for info and costs. MB services maintain mobilo - mercedes roadside assistance

Warranty - look on the MB website, MB tier 1 or 2 is expensive. I would keep the money in the bank and use a good MB indy for the work. Other companies also offer warranties, but I have no experience with such at all.

BUT I sense your anxiety and you might feel more comfortable with such for peace of mind.

Maybe take a trip to a MB dealers, pull up a chair and get some info. That said the info for the MB products (service plans and warranty) is on the website.

I would only consider additional warranty for a high end newer merc as they are electrically loaded and thats where thr costs would be.

In the meantime, I could elaborate for ages, but hope the summary suffices from me.
