I have just purchased Carsoft V7.4 which is full dealer level diagnostics for vehicles from 1994 - 2004 so if any body has problems don't hesitate to contact me.

Good software, couldn't find much to rival it other than Star Diagnostics.

Found Merc v7.4 interface on ebay and got the software through a company on ebay - (The Car Hospital)

Total price for the two was around £150

£150 for the two sounds so cheap when i was looking at it it was £2K or so, do you connect up to a laptop?

I bought CarSoft v8.0, but was delivered v7.7 and still waiting for delivery of v8.0.

v7.7 is a real pain - for example:
1) To run a full diagnostic on a´ML270 takes 30 minutes, with the ignition on, it quickly drains the battery. Once the full diagnostics have been processed, any module with error, you have to perform a full diagnostic, which can take another 30 minutes.
2) On a C-220, this takes 40 minutes.
3) Unless a fault occurs, you cannot access the CIS database, and only can access the part of the CIS database for the read out fault code. Useless if you are trying to investigate a problem.
4) When you reset the service indicator on C-220, it randomly throws up transmission errors and you have to repeat 2 all again, then spend an equal time clearing the errors.
5) You cannot program half of the options available on Star Diagnostics - ie. Try telling your command that you have Bose!

I wouldnt call it value for money software, but I am still looking into it, and maybe change my mind on v8.0! Wouldnt pay the full price for it, if you can get 2nd hand, then this is the better option.
