By car has been under warranty and is now on a service contract. It has had plenty of work undertaken as it is the most unreliable car I have ever owned (Thats why I took out the service contract).

I have never been issued with a single document specifying exactly the work that has been undertaken - am I entitled to see & have copies of all the repairs?

If you own the car, of course. Just call the service agent and ask for it.

I had an issue with this when I took my car in its first service under service plus agreement. The service manager told me that I do not get to see a copy of the invoice because it goes to MB. I assume thaey don't want you to see what the charges are.
However I insisted that I would like a copy for my records and they managed to print one without the costs

Regards

Steve

Normally if you ask for any back copies only the dealer that did the work will give it to you.

After my last service I had to make a request for a copy of the service sheet to MBMK. It was delivered first post next day!

Interesting how this compares with this thread:

http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=35035

Case 1 : 3rd party feels they should be entitled to see details of a transaction between 2 other parties.

Case 2: Someone feels that a 3rd party should not be abled to see details of a transaction between 2 other parties.

I wasn't intrested in any costs, just confirmation on what was done and what oil was used.

I had asked in the past and received the same response as "Moneyman" - I will ask again and let you know the result.

I bought this car second hand through MBUK - Presumably I am unable to see work that was carried out prior to my purchase? (The car had one previous owner). Work, which I believe is on their system.

Guys,

You shouldn't ask for an invoice copy for warranty work etc... you want a copy of the job card and to be honest it should be provided to you upon completion of the warranty work by the repairing Mercedes-Benz retailer. They should be going through in full detail exactly what they have done to your pride and joy when they hand you back the keys.

Anywork completed on your vehicle must be authorised by YOU and no one else, even if the work is done FOC or under a warranty or service plus contract.

If the Mercedes-Benz retailer says they can't provide a detailed report of the work completed on your vehicle, speak to the Aftersales Manager or Dealer Principal.

It will soon appear, guaranteed.

My local dealer, who saw the car for the first time for some warranty work, was very helpful. He tapped a couple of keys and printed out a full "Damage History" for the car. That's MB's ominously sounding name for the EVA report produced. It was a line-item history of all the work carried out by MB garages, including services (and types), warranty work and recalls. Gave it straight to me - no questions asked.

And was there a damage history? Had the car been involved in an accident?
