I'm trying to fix a small but annoying issue with my S211 - a previous owner peeled the dealer sticker off the back window and took some of the tint film with it. The ideal fix would be to have a replacement dealer sticker made (and then I can cut the same shape as the sticker out of the tint film). I might as well try to get the right sticker but I don't know what it looks like. The car was sold new by John R Weir in Grangemouth in 2007. If you've got a 2007-odd dealer sticker on your Merc would you mind posting a pic for me to copy? Obviously a John R Weir sticker would be best but that may be asking a bit much. Cheers.

Post a pic of the tint buddy.
Is the tint aftermarket film, sounds so?

Sounds a bit strange. The OEM tint is blended into the glass and certainly wont come off with a rear window dealer sticker. What does normally happen when you remove the sticker is the residue glue is sometimes hard to shift. As ^^above^^ it sounds like it is an after market tint. I that is the case just remove what is left on the screen, in my view aftermarket tints rarely look right anyway :)

thanks for the comments and suggestions - sounds like i do have an aftermarket tint, but i'm going to leave it on as it's in good condition apart from the bit that's annoying me.

I'd rather create a period sticker that will go better with the car than something brand new that it never had (and knowing my luck I'd end up with a bright yellow Arnold Clark decal!)

Hopefully someone has a mid-2000s dealer sticker on their vehicle and will be kind enough to post a pic.

cheers

Thing with these dealer stickers is they are just annoying advertising for the selling dealer.
Always removed mine immediately.
I hope you find what you are after. Did you try the dealer of the said sticker. If you are lucky they might have some left in a dusty old cupboard in a long secluded storage room.

John R Weir no longer in existence; replaced by Arnol Clark in Grangemouth.

If you know what it looks like or better still have a picture you could get one of those made quite easily by a Vinyl guy :)
