Mercedes Benz Romford & Stratford

I dont know if anyone has heard the rumors going around that both Mercedes Benz main dealers at Romford and Stratford, East London will be closing.

Apparently, Romford are closing before Christmas and Stratford will close due to compulsory land purchase for the Olympics in the new year.

To be honest neither will be missed. I bet the likes of MotorAid the good independent in the area are rubbing there hands together !

Land purchase for the Olympics? Bit late for that isn't it?

IIRC, that is based in Rick Roberts Way, where the BMW showroom was, and that's way over on the other side of the A11 to the Olympic Park. If that's in the way, then so is everything else around that area, and that is a LOT of real estate.

Cant be the case then Peter, but I know some people that know staff there, so I guess that there cant be any smoke without fire ? !

Romford has been run down over the years , surprised they are closing stratford as it used to be very busy! and diidnt they recently move it from the olympic site to the new site in Rick Roberts way (as mentioned above)

Rubbing their hands together, I'd like to put mine round their necks, a bill that doubled in size from their original quote with no warning (I'm talking serious money here) A cylinder head and 3 injectors destroyed by incompetance, it only came to light yesterday that the 3 replacement injectors where the wrong ones for the vehicle, also to lazy to put back the primary engine cover which was not immediatley obvious untill the need to remove the outer engine cover arose, caused me to have my first plating test failure (the first in 34 years as a vehicle operator) and half the bolts from the engine missing.

They were good when they were a genuine Merc specialist in the early days but they treated their staff badly and they all left to go back to a proper Merc Dealer

Specialists they are not as they have expanded from a Merc Indie to dabbling in all the top marques, the latest being Porche. They are an establishment catering for fat wallet car owners, or as once described as thieves in Armani overalls.

I could tell you a story about an Audi A6 that they buggered up but as I dont know the full facts I wont .
