Good evening all

Sorry if already a repetative question from the past....
I've found lately that the inside of the boot of my C class 54 Reg is really damp.

Today after clearing the boot out and removing the inner carpet i found there to be a puddle in the centre (spare wheel) -
Any ideas please to what could have caused this - i know we've had plenty of typical british rain - never experienced this on other vehicles i've owned.
This occured before all the snow we had..
All the best Gary

if you dry the boot floor then use powder like talc & cover the floor area then use a hose on the boot area you can find the path the water takes by the track in the powder

Water in boot

Hi All

I experienced a similar problem just the one time. I traced it to debris collecting in the channel in the chassis where the boot lid closes, in particular at the sides where rain flows off the car. The debris hinders the flow of water which sometimes finds its way into the boot rather than flowing off the back of the car and onto the ground. I've kept these channels clear ever since and the problem has never resurfaced.

I have seen this problem before where owners park their vehicles beneath trees, etc.

Another idea - do you use a car wash?

REGARDS

You could always lock yourself in the boot with a torch while someone hoses your car....

There is nothing listed for water in the boot on this car.

The rear lights should be inspected for any water stains and the same with the rear boot lock.

After a heavy downpour I would run my fingers under all of the inside edges including under the rear window for any water. also below the rear lights. leaving the floor panel out makes it easier
