Hello I’m new here so here goes. I bought a 2012 Mercedes c220 and have always had issues with the mpg, it is always in 19-24 mpg. It is never higher than that. In a full tank il probably get 230-250 miles, any help will be appreciated thank you
That's impressive but has to be an exception to the rule, I'm a steady driver and regularly get the high 50's in mixed driving. 19-24 is poor but you already know that of course!Any black smoke or whistling indicating a boost leak ?
That's far from right .
And some...

Shouldn‘t do if it’s serviced and maintained correctly. As engine miles tot up, the efficiency of the engine goes down.
Hi it gets serviced every year and maintained too but since day one of me getting the car 2 years ago it’s always been like this, I had the dpf cleaned out 3 weeks ago to see if tht helps but still no changeShouldn‘t do if it’s serviced and maintained correctly.
I did have a fuel leak, oil leak and coolant leak a few weeks ago which I know a previous mechanic had done on purpose while I got it serviced from him to make more money out of me- which Iv had fixed now by a different mechanic but even though that’s sorted there’s still been no change. My car even drops down to 14mpg, yours says 78mpg and honestly Iv never ever seen mine get above 20 never mind that muchAny black smoke or whistling indicating a boost leak ?

Yh it is very poor and unfortunately very costly on diesel tooThat's impressive but has to be an exception to the rule, I'm a steady driver and regularly get the high 50's in mixed driving. 19-24 is poor but you already know that of course!
My E250 got 139k on the clock and still smashes 50+ mpg. She does get serviced every year and over the last 2 years it only 4k miles apart. This year might be 1k then another serviceAs engine miles tot up, the efficiency of the engine goes down.
I live in Newcastle and had the car for 2 years nowYou should post your location so the forum can recommend independent MB specialists local to you who will have the correct diagnostic equipment and expertise to be able to help you directly, how long have you had the car, are you still in a position to talk to the seller?
Yh you could be rightBy the way and to rub salt into the wound, I have found that the on board computer is about 10% - 20% optimistic in its readings when compared to fill-to-fill calculations.
So, 19 to 24 might actually be 16 to 20mpg !!!?
Mine is very bad but I don’t know why, I thought Mercedes were supposed to be goodMy E250 got 139k on the clock and still smashes 50+ mpg. She does get serviced every year and over the last 2 years it only 4k miles apart. This year might be 1k then another service
