Hey guys we had another Mercedes C350 CDI in for some GAD lovin yesterday! The customer was put onto us by a kind member on this forum.

We drove just over the Dartford bridge and collected the vehicle as the customer owns a garage and had far to much work in to pop it over himself so we went and got the vehicle form him.

This 350 CDI was a 2010 so it was the 231bhp model not the 265bhp model, however after mapping the vehicle it transformed from a nippy C-Class to a complete torque monster!!! The difference was night and day!!!

Here is a couple of pics for you guys!!!

Yes, key to power if efficency so when the power is not required the engine will run more efficantly thurs improving MPG of course if the drive should have a lead foot this of course will not be the case but based on like for like driving you will see an improvement with a remap.

Hi Gad,

I have bought the same C350 model (2010 - 230 bhp) and was wondering what risks your remap has on the engine components?

Will I need to worry about potential turbo killers? Or do your remaps keep within original manufacture safety parameters?

Also - Will I expect an increase in fuel economy when driving normally?

Regards

Good morning,

It really depends on what power you are looking for ?

We are fully bespoke so each map is tailed to the client and vehicle. So no two vehicles are the same.

If you have an idea of power you would like to produce we can advise further.

You can have any power upto 800nm of torque. Most customers opt for 750 and feel this is more and adequate.

Many Thanks the GAD Tuning Support Team http://www.gadtuning.co.uk

I do not believe you can achieve 800nm or even 750nm on the 350, 2010, 230bhp engine.

I had my car re mapped by Gad - the same model- a couple of months ago, after the re-map I took it for a test drive and did not feel any appreciable difference so GAD tweaked the ECU for a second time. I was told that the tweaking was now at its max and anymore then they would not be responsible for. Ie this was the most that could be achieved.

The car did feel slightly quicker after this although the throttle response was no better. Prior to the remap I was advised throttle response would improve.

I rang GAD who suggested a rolling road test, which I have subsequently had done. Max Power 252 hp at the rear wheels, 290hp at the engine. Not bad to be fair. It is the claim on the torque for the 230hp standard engine I wish to put in perspectve because on the rolling road test my car achieved max 443 ft lbs ie 600 nm torque, so I dont see how you can go up the figures being claimed for this engine, based on my experience.

I have yet to check the mpg as I am waiting to do a 400mile motorway trip I have done dozens of times previously.

Apologies, in the interest of a balanced post, torque stated above was at the rear wheels. At the engine it was 509 ft lbs ie 690 nm.

Good morning guys,

I can only apologise I miss read the horse power originally but the 231 can make 750NM with other mods, AKA DPF removal, EGR Delete, Removal of CAT and uprated intercooler. The gains we quoted are for the 265bhp model and apologise again for this.

If you guys have any further questions please feel free to pop us an e-mail to info@gadtuning.co.uk or PM us, of course you guys can also comment below.

Many thanks

GAD

Hello again,

So engine torque output for your vehicle is now the claimed engine torque output of the Lamborghini Aventador!!!

350

For the most part I drive steady.

Cannot really say that I have noticed any appreciable difference, it certainly is no worse.

What I have noticed is that when you are up to 30 - 40 mph ish it holds the lower gears longer before the auto box changes up. Guess thats the extra torque.

This is brilliant 70 BHP improvement with no loss of MPG...
