Mercedes Cla 250 2014 4matic
Hello,

I have a problem with my Mercedes Cla 250 2014 (C117) 4matic with an automatic transmission :( While started driving, I accidentally changed the gear to 'P'. The car abruptly stopped, and after turning off and on the engine again, I couldn't change gears or driving modes. The car got stuck in 'P', and the display showed it was in 'N' and could roll away. The car was towed to a mechanic who manually unlocked the transmission and read error codes 07630 and 081C0. The errors were cleared, but they reappeared shortly after. The mechanic determined that the transmission is not mechanically damaged but there is an electronic fault. He suggested that it is likely a problem with the shift lever mounted on the steering column but he is not sure about it. Another mechanic also mentioned that be don't know how to fix this issue. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I would be grateful for any advices.

Have a nice day :)

Thank you very much for your response. I have already tried disconnecting the battery, but unfortunately, it didn't help. So, it is likely that the problem is with the engine control module (ECM), not with the transmission control module (TCM)? Am I understanding correctly?

If you hav read and understood that code points to shift module start there. Google is Yr buddy for that. But I don't get how shoving it into park fs that up? However upsetting the electronics in the trans itself does not seem unlikely.

Not experienced this his but an experienced MB independent (with STAR) may well have.

Rather than playing parts darts with enthusiasts, I'd recommend getting one involved.

Where abouts are you?

Always try as many simple checks, tests as you feel competent to do. Never know, might fix it AND learn something along the way.
I have no prob using Google or any other info source, that does not mean I use that info,
