Very emotive subject tuning & remaps, best just to leave it that there are some loyalties in the group one way or the other and that's it really.....

Indeed I do, you live in a very reputational business so you are right to defend yourself. You were also correct in not naming who you believe has performed a poor map, end of the day luckily the customer now is satisfied, and as another poster said, we should concentrate on the congratulations you deserve for the task performed.

Well Anthony, actions speak louder that words in my opinion. I wouldn't have a problem recommending GAD based on what I've read, as you seem open, honest and upfront. You're happy to answer any questions on this forum regarding work you've done. Oh, and you return phone calls when you say you will!

There is a claim in the post you linked to that GAD under-report the initial dyno run on purpose (and fall short of the Merc stock figures) so that you can show a bigger improvement through your maps.

People are entitled to their view and I don't understand nor am I knocking their reasons for their view, but personally looking at this objectively, I would make one observation, one assumption, and another observation:
- You are constantly putting up before and after dyno and map results, and comparing the before dyno results with Merc stock figures. I've seen countless examples where you're basically spot on the Merc factory figures and I trust Merc (and most manufacturers) to put out cars at highly consistent power outputs.
- I don't believe that it is worth your time (or repurtation) to be altering dyno settings for each 'before' and 'after' dyno run to give the impression of a bigger improvement. For one thing, if you were trying to fiddle the figures in that way, you would invariably forget sometimes, and be shooting yourself in the foot.
- You have mentioned in the past that you get the dyno manufacturer to sometimes log in to view the data during remap. Again, I think the chances of a manufacturer colluding with a remapper to fiddle the dyno output figures is unlikely.

First of all, that AMG looks simply stunning. Well done GAD on improving / correcting the performance.

Haven't posted much here recently. But when GAD first came to the forum, they ran a competition for a free map. I was the lucky winner. They tuned my CLS at the time and the difference was night and day. Good to see GAD have gone from strength to strength !

Thank you both for your kind words.....

Forums can be a great or stressful place as you always have the added difficulties of reading the comments rather than having them spoken to you which leaves a lot to interpretation so i will am mindful that can be an issue but to have people who are not even clients try and pick up on someone's unvoiced opinion and literally does the opposite themselves then we will indeed step in and defend our stand point.

You can see many occasions when our readings are bang on or within a bhp of OEM quoted figures but this notion that they make considerably more is nonsense in its purist form!

Many thanks

Anthony @ GAD

I have been in the motor trade for thirty two years. I passed out at the top of my class from college all those years ago with two distinctions and a credit. I have run my own garage for twenty two years. In that time I have built race winning cars. One car I prepare and maintain has won the Goodwood Spring Sprint three times, beating the works Noble M600 driven by Anthony Reid. I have had cars tuned at a few well known places over the years. Bullcrap abounds in this industry sadly. I’m not the type who likes a row, so I tend to keep my mouth closed and judge on what I find. Anthony at GAD was straightforward, honest and open all the way through. My wife tells me I don’t suffer fools gladly, and she knows me very well. Anthony is straight up, and I’d recommend him.

I have spent 40 years in the motor trade, including racing. Involved in tuning Japanese performance cars, including lots of development work with my Nissan Skyline. Spent a whole day in the dyno cell once tweaking the map with ignition, fueling and cam timing etc. with the tuner. At the time it was the most powerfull R34GTT in the country.

So who did I choose to remap my Mercedes? GAD. Infact Anthony has remapped 5 for me now, with excellent results.

It's certainly not fair for a member to big up another forum supporter and make disparaging comments about GAD. I know who this other well respected tuner is and it's not the first time that I have heard about a bad map.

That is all I will add to this thread, but I know who to believe.
