do you think it would be possable to use a form of star online in the same you can use sites like davinci com to read & alter software on a mobile phone is it not possable to use a wireless laptop & a obd cable log on to the site & pay for a scan then you can save or print the results backed up with some support info. the only item needed is the obd cable for the user a low cost item poss sold via the site .if someone could do it i think it would do rather well all over the world .......or is i mad:D

if its set up right it would be a good service as for a mess think of some third party crap sold on a internet auction sites & it makes sence .even just to read the codes as some are ripped of by garages who dont have the skill to pinpoint the fault & also save owners buying parts they dont need .even have a list of good indies to back up the service

Just simple PC skills the general public cannot do, let alone MB diagnostic. Leave it to the experts. If you don't have the skills, sorry.

As I said earlier EOBD II published is not good enough, we need built-in diagnostic in the car.

I used my EOBDII scanner, there is no codes to read. With Carsoft there are sensitive data someone needs the skill to analyse the codes and act from there. You can try if you wish, it your prerogative if you want to save money if you don't want to be ripped off by mechanics.

in your case you now have more Q than A due to the lack of proper back up this is why access to proper software backed by some on line help would be a better route to take

When I bought my new computer, and had problems with service pack 11 update, microsoft took over my computer and sorted it all out, this is all quite old hat now, though with a simple interface the car could be connected, but without the skills to interpret the guide more harm than good would be done, and it could not work in reality

But Microsoft is different, they got a whole army of Indian programmers to do it.

You find Microsoft os in 90% of the world PCs, Merc cars less than 10% of the world cars willing to do diagnostic themselves.
