Every page I go to is blank!

Could someone please point me to the page which shows the engine side accelerator cable and linkage on an automatic 1992 230TE. I have some wear on certain parts which I would like to replace, and my nearest dealer is a good way away.

Thanks

Tony

When using the Ruskie site,,if you have Firefox then you must scroll down to the text

On early cars there are 2 sections on the page, those at the top half are refference to the microfiche files, the lower half after BM will open on your srceen with all of the detail.

In the link is a simple page, just scroll down on firefox and you can see the BM

Malcolm

I promise I'll go away soon.

On the illustrations here:

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...+++717.413&CT=M&cat=504&SID=07&SGR=135&SGN=06

Am I to auume that the parts which are not listed in the parts box are NLA?

I have wear on part 20

ans significant slop in the ball and socket 17 and 53.

This makes it impossible for the diaphram height ever to be set correctly.

Or are these available ex the dealer?

Thanks again

Tony

Hard to say if these are MB parts or Bosch,, the best way would be to print off the diagrams and go to your MB dealer and ask them to look on the EPC, the chances are that you can buy the complete assembly

Try that first, otherwise is there any way that you could fit or replace any springs to take up the wear /slack

Thanks I'll do that.

I really think it needs the parts replacing, I cant see a way to tighten up the ball and socket without rendering it inoperative.

The springs are present.

The hole on the socket is much bigger than the ball it fits on, therefore it flops around.

What is happening is that there is no way to regulate the sensor plate, therefore under certain conditions it completly shuts and stops the engine. The adjustment screws work fine, but if there is no rigidity in the parts you are adjusting you can set them properly.

Still the idle problem, but now its not and idle problem, its just an engine stops problem, but at least I know all of the sensors and the ECU are good.

Then why not fit a spring to keep it closed,it does not matter the other way as it is lifted

OK

Need to get my head round that.

Regrettably I have work for the next seven weeks, Monday to Wednesday, so it will be Thursday before I can look again.

I'm sure I'll be back then. In the meantime I will also try to see whrther the dealer can get the parts, maybe I can email them.

Thanks for your help.

Talk again soon.

Off to light the fire and get ready to see whether Lewis can hold it together.

Just to simplify throttles are lifted by the rod and a return springs keeps them closed, any spring should not be so strong that it would hear the pivot point but strong enough to return it to where it came from, a round type hair spring is the best as it does not cause any wear to take place, but they are the hardest to fit
