mercedes key help please ...........

could anybody help me out i have a 2001 mercedes c320 with the infared key just before christmas i went out to my car and and put the key in and the key would not turn the doors unlocked on the key but nothing happend when i put the key in the ignition.so i then ordered a key from mercedes and got the key and again the key opended the door then when i put it in the ignition on the dash came a message saying computing data.mercedes told me this message should be up for 30 mins then clear but after 2-3 hours it still displayed that message.has anybody had this problem or no off what will solve this problem it would be most appreciated if you could help me out

If the car has not been used since Christmas, is the battery fully charged after all this time. If the battery is up to the full 12.5 volts and the key does not turn, it could be the brake light switch faulty (£9) or the ignition lock itself

ill try a new battery tommorow and get back to you to find out more about the brake light switch etc thanks
