Mercedes Me Adapter

Hi,

I own a 2014 ML - the car does not have the Mercedes me connectivity. Mercedes states on their website they can retrofit an adapter to connect to the Mercedes benz app.

Has any anyone here retrofitted one? If yes, does the app let you remotely pre-heat/cool before you enter the vehicle?

Hello and welcome

You can add one, usually FOC from a dealer although I don’t think you’ll have many features on a 2014 vehicle

i've got one on my 2012 w204 and it does not have a lot of features only mileage tracking and destinations and it tells you when you are low on fuel but thats about it.

I don’t even have pre-heat etc on my 2018 car and that has inbuilt 4G Mercedes me connectivity

I had the Mercedes ME adapter in my 2010 S Class and used to love the mileage tracking feature... it allowed me to track business mileage as it gave a download in CSV format that I could extract the necessary data.... now on my 2016 S Class, the feature isn't there (but I can lock and unlock the car from the app??? so I'm back to writing journeys down again

Create yourself a spreadsheet with a formula that looks up google maps, that way it would calculate the route and mileage for you based on the post code, makes remembering the mileage nice and easy as all you have to do it put date and where from and to

I was not impressed with the amount of hoops the dealership expected me to jump through in the enabling process.
I was even less impressed with the list of free features it provided.
I wasn't surprised to find a rather comprehensive list of features available by paid subscription only!
But it was the security issue that put me off, it's just another means of entry and starting the car for the criminal elements to find a workaround for whether they work on the dongle or your mobile phone, so mine was a resounding no thank you very much, and consigned the unregistered dongle to file!

I had retrofit on my 2014 212 and frankly it did very little except record my journeys and advise status - you could certainly not precondition , open or close/lock or anything useful- waste of time and the Adapter used to hit my right knee in the OBD as well....
