Mercedes Me App upgrade

The new version of the Mercedes Me app introduced to run on iOS, ver1.16.0, will not run on iPhones that either don't have or cannot upgrade to ver13.0 iOS.
The problem is that the old version on the phone is interrupted by an update message (1.16.0) that request you upgrade to the new version that cant be uploaded onto the phone as its not running v13iOS so you end up in a loop not being able to upgrade and not being able to run the old version.

Anybody found a work around?

Called CS and basically told Tuff Sh1t buy a new phone or borrow somebody else's!!!

Not trying to be funny, but if your phone is so old it doesn't support iOS 13, you probably should upgrade. You will not be getting security updates etc. You don't need the latest phone, so not necessarily big bucks. It is not unreasonable for software companies to only go back so far with operating system support, otherwise it becomes unmanageable.

May be I didn't explain it correctly. The old version of software is still there on the phone the problem is when you run it you get a pop up message to upgrade. The upgrade wont load on the phone because of the iOS ver and you cant get rid of the pop up message it keeps coming back, endless loop so no way to get to the old version, that by the way works fine for me.
As for getting a new phone. I am no in favour of being forced to buy a new phone every time someone else out there decides its time to change in this throw away culture we now live in, the old phone and app are quite sufficient for me all I wish is access to the old app. I have kept this phone as it was my late brothers and am reluctant to give it up even if it is considered by others to be a piece of junk.
