Mercedes Me enquiry

[2017 Mercedes Benz C350E]

Hello there I have recently about half an hour ago activated my Mercedes me for my C350e and when I first got the app and strolled around the map and tracker worked however going to the little car symbol section I see nothing just blank I don’t know if this is a pre mbux thing or something since it does use Garmin

Can I have some answers please?

Should work but sometimes takes a little while for Mercedes Me to activate. I think some Mercedes Me features need you to verify your identity and ownership, as well. If you have an “ i “ button on your overhead control panel, you can use to that call Mercedes Customer Services direct and they very efficiently sorted out a problem I had with one of the Mercedes Me services a while back.


Edit… just a thought but your 2017 car probably uses 3G and that is being phased out so remote access, etc won’t work anymore. There are a couple of threads on here about it.

I see just now I’ve gotten a notification for an incomplete set up and with an added Mercedes me pin everything popped up

Thank you for letting me know it was almost like I wasted my time activating it

Just got this email from Mercedes:

We regret to inform you that we will be discontinuing operation of the Mercedes me Adapter App and therefore terminating the Mercedes me Adapter service as of 30 August 2023. The Adapter App, including the Adapter service, will therefore no longer be available as of 31 August 2023.

From then on, no more personal data about you will be collected and processed. In addition, all data stored about you for service fulfilment purposes will be deleted or made anonymous. If you still need access to the trips and refuelling stops recorded with the Adapter App, please export them with the help of these instructions. Please contact the Customer Assistance Center on 0080097777777 or your Mercedes-Benz Authorised Repairer if you have any further questions.

This does not automatically delete your Mercedes me ID. Your Mercedes me account will remain active as well as the connection between your account and your vehicle, which you can access via the online portal here.

On receiving this I realised I virtually never used it so I pulled the dongle out and opened it up to see if it could be repurposed.
Not obviously....
I could make something from scratch but I'm not sure I can be bothered.
Something like an ESP32 to do Wi-Fi/Bluetooth but then I have to read up on the signals it picks up and....
As they only supplied the MM for my Car I assume it predates the command bus so I couldn't do anything interesting.
