Mercedes ML 270 CDI tracking device requirement.

Hello.
I contacted the insurance company Direct Line,and they refused to insure the car against Loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft,because the car does not have a Tracking device.I know such device is needed if the value of the car is over £40 000,and for certain models.My car's value is under £40 000.Does anyone have had such problems with Insurance company.
To your knowledge again,the car is Mercedes ML 270 CDI,Reg.2002.

I asked Firzell (LV) what difference my tracker would make to my premium as I discovered it was fitted after buying and insuring my E270.
None came the reply ;-)
Try another insurer, it's probably not worth the £300 plus a tracker will cost you.

I swapped a BMW M-sport convertible for my current ML350 and was amazed when getting quotes people wanted a tracker on the merc. Never had such problems with the bm and that was convertible.

I just rang round and now with Admiral, cheapest by far and no tracker needed.

Try Admiral, no problems. They hate trackers.

Don't find this unusual with direct Line as they own Tracker. Liverpool Victoria are the best for me.
