I don't know if anybody has driven a Vito, but they are sh#te - gearbox, transmission, brakes, even the engine seems crap. You're better off with a fiat/iveco or opel.

if you need a van, get a transit! yes they rust too, but they handle abuse and mileages easily. i know of a few with 300k and 400k miles, especially the older 2.5 Di engine

I think flapper disc/ chisel off ( where you cant get the grinder in) all the rust, use rust killing stuff on it, and literally cover every other part of bodywork with oily stuff. Oil up everything which isn't directly on view (so oil up the door shuts too!). Keep spraying it with oil/ waxoil every year so that the engine can get the black death.
