Stunning S350d in for Stage 1 tuning....

The latest model with the latest 350d engine being the new Straight six which is identical to the 400d version at 340bhp so these have a huge scope for tuning...

Got to work as usual checking tyres, dif, coolant, oil and fuel quality while running diagnostics on the vehicle while letting everything cool as these run very hot and can soak while sitting very easily.

Multiple runs and sweep test along with different RPM tests.

Logs went to plan and vehicle was behaving as we would expect to the customers delight.

OEM - 286bhp and 600nm

Real - 286bhp and 639nm

Stage 1 - 383bhp and 893nm


She responded beautifully

With diesel we don't its my template I use for posts

Petrol on the other hand clients are told before hand they must be running premium fuels otherwise the car gets rejected

Premium diesel does have additives and detergents which does make for better running and MPG have tested it ALOT

But don't expect power from it

I think those curves really suit that car and also bridge the performance gap between some of the quicker competitors in this class.

Reading this makes me a step closer into getting my w221 s350 bluetec and CLS320 mapped at GAD.

I have been adding redex to my diesel and petrol for over 20 years although I have not looked into the next level of performance additives. Worth it?

Just with JASO FB spec Low ash mineral based 2 Stroke oil halved my mot smoke opacity test on my Euro 3 .

They both get a pre made up shot of 200ml 2T & 40ml 2-EHN every tank full.

Was looking at the 350 vs 400d in the past.

Does the 400d have more upside potential or in fact they would achieve the same through yourselves regardless which you buy?

How were the gear changes on the 9G after this tune? Would a gearbox tune help this car in any way shape or form?

We can indeed offer TCU calibration for the 9G but most of our clients don't opt for it as the gearbox behaves so well with ECU tune only most dont see the cost to benefit as being in their favour

Nope exactly the same potential as they are identical its purely software that denoted if its a 350d or 400d so the choice is yours which to go with

I was ruling out all 350d when I was looking. Seems that was a nonsensical thing to do then !

Bumping this thread.

Currently looking at a 213 E class.
It has a 200d engine vs the 220d engine that most have.
I think it’s the same engine. But is it or does it have any separate components?

I had a rental car on holiday which was a 2023 200d GLB which felt very noisy vs a 213 220d I used to own.

Anybody know if the 200d can simply be remapped to make it behave like the 220d. I believe there is a 50 bhp difference in official spec so quite a difference.
