mercedes sprinter air in fuel

hi there am pritty new at all this so am hoping sum1 can help me i have a mercedes 416 2.7 5 cyl auto box minibus and i have air in the fuel it seems to cause the bus to hold back when it comes under load (ie) steep hills there seems to be air in the clear fuel pipe that runs from the filter after i have used the bus for about 30 mins and switch the engine off it wnt start leave it 5 minz or so and the bus starts up i have tried new fuel filter new rtn vale on the top of the filter new feed from the tank to the filter and a new plastic water drain screw at the side of the filter i have done a leak off test and injectors are good i am running out of ideas and patience please can some1 help many thanx chris aka junior

O-rings of the all low pressure lines, O-rings of the pressure regulator?

also is the fuel pressure reg at the end of the fuel rail nearest to the bulkhead

You are running out of ideas as air in the fuel wont cause a loss in power.

You have 2 faults here, the non start issue is likely to be caused by the plastic fuel pipe on top of the filter, those pipes are famous for letting air past the moulded joint and the likely culprit.

With the poor power I would say you have a boost issue somewhere, possibly caused by a jammed turbo transducer which is the most common issue on a sprinter. But you need a STAR diagnosis test to see what fault codes are stored. Get this done first or as you are experiencing, you waste a lot of time chasing a fault that isnt actually there or even in the wrong area.

have had star diagnostics and no codes are stored and turbo is on 1000 mile old
