Mercedes stuck in park

Hello,

This is my first post so here we go.

I have a C class Merc 1999 2ltr petrol, the car is stuck in park and the key won’t turn in the ignition. Is there a way to take the car out of park?

lift the gearknob gator off and at the back of the gearknob there is a yellow lever, you need to put your foot on the brake then lift it up and you can then slide the gearlever into D or R

Does your gear gate go P,R,N,D, or P,R,N,D,4,3,2,1 ?

If the key won’t turn with car in P, isn’t it more likely to be an EIS issue?
