Mercedes Tail Lights - Tail Light Identification

Help me out here!  Trying to identify the year, etc of tail light assembly removed from a 300D.  They did not fit my 1983 240D.  Although they look the same they are slightly larger.  All the numbers I have are on the assemblies and are 22059 L & R with 2259 L & R on cast assembly.   Could not get the VIN as the car was crushed shortly after the assembiles were removed.  If you own a similar vehicle the 22059 numbers will be visible without removing the assembly.  I would presume they are casting numbers.
