:?: in need of informations about a 1970 truck merc 808, 4 cilinders.

I have lots of problems with the fuel system, the reves aren't working fully through the accelerator. and the reves&switch off button have been made redundant, with my amazement,(!???!!!). Does anybody know where I can get a User's manual, or anything about the mechanical diagrams of its engine? many thanks

Your Mercedes
A diesel
Not sure what you mean by the revs & switch off button but I suspect the fuel shut off has been disconnected.

It is possible the fuel shut off is partially closed resticting full fuel flow so the engine wont rev but will run. Obviously someone has been mucking about.
Possibly they have turned down the max. fuelling screw to get the old bus through an emissions test.

If you look around the fuel pump the operations should become fairly clear.

As there is no turbo I think there are only the following:

Idle stop, Max. running stop, fuel shut-off. All other functions are inside the pump.

Either obtain a manual from a Mercedes commercial dealer, or get hold of the Bosh technical manual for PE in-line pumps. Order no. 1987722162.

Your local diesel specialist will probably give you some free advice.
