To cut a long story short an independent dealer changed my manual gearbox oil with EP80 Gearbox would not engage gear when cold.
Eventually found out that ATF type A suffix A should be used. I could not find a supplier of this spec, Esso Technical advised that their type D ATF should be ok. I duly changed the EP80 for this and all now seems ok.
Can anyone confirm that I have the right fluid? One Mercedes van dealer informed me that they use Castol Syn Gear (Synthetic ATF) which I was unable to find on retail sale.
