Mercedes Vito 109 CDI 2006. 6 or 5 speed manual

Hello to all, im about to buy a used 2006 Mercedes Benz Vito van 109 CDI 2148cc diesel. The car is manual and the seller claims that it has 5 speeds (the gear knob is missing, so i cannot see) i drove it and true it has 5 gears.. But the internet says that only 6 speed manuals are produced back then.. This mean that the seller is lying to me? And it change gearbox from another Mercedes model? Or the 6th gear is broken and he just telling me that "it has 5 gears"? Or they produce also 5 speed manual Vito's back then in 2006? Thank you!
