HI Everyone - Hope you can help

I have just purchaed a 2001 Vito converted to a Camper.

1. The central locking does not work at all - Is there a common fault or will it need replacement

2. Does anyone have any experience of fitting an alarm system. This only has an immobiliser

Do the locks work of the switch on the dash board ? down for rear doors or up for front doors , press up twice for all doors and tailgate/rear doors . If the locks are not working the most likely cause is the contacts on each sliding door the wires have a tendency to corrode and break behind the contact plates an easy repair .

Was the vehicle a van conversion or a traveliner conversion .

Was the central locking disconnected during the conversion ?

remote key = 1 press for front doors
= 2 presses for all four doors to lock/unlock on respective buttons .

Indicators will flash once for lock/unlock using remote .

Is the vehicle fitted with motion locks ?

Thanks for the response.
Locks not working off Dashboard - Remote key is clicking some kind of switch on the vehicle but not affecting the door locks themselves - Central locking switch has two arrows continually flashing red.
Vehicle is Van conversion and not fitted with motion locks.
Any other thoughts or are contacts still best route to investigate in your opinion?
