Hello

I have a w211 E220 2004 plate

When slowing down there is a strange noise at low speeds when you are not accellerating.

I could only describe it like if you had a manual car and were doing about 10 MPH and put the car in 1st gear and it makes that noise mine does up until you accelerate again then the noise goes but as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator then it starts again
usually under 20 mph

The car is an auto and in sport mode

i have had the gear oil changed and this made no difference

any idea guys

thanks

Thanks for replying guys
I have had a new diff fitted not long ago
It does sound like its coming from gear shift area
Do you think the gear box might be on its way out? I have 112000 miles on the clock gear oil had been changed twice in this time.

Thanks for replying
