Hi all,

First off let me say Hi to everyone as i'm new here.

Secondly, I appreciate this may be a strange slightly off topic (?) question but i'll try my luck anyway, i've been doing a project on merchandising between sports cars around the SLK level, and was wondering what kind of merchandising you guys received when purchasing your SLK lets say the CLK as well, if any. It can be anything from stickers to jackets, key rings to vacations. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hi trekt and welcome to the forum. I do not have an SLK or CLK, but have bought a couple of cars from dealers over the years. Standard fare seems to be umbrellas or keyrings - nice, but not enough to allow me to give up work. I have, however, operated at the best discounts I can achieve (by hook or by crook), hopefully leaving them the thinnest of margins, so I can sympathise with their position.

It will be interesting to hear the experience of others.

Yeah umbrellas and keyrings seem to be the standard wherever you go, I was just wondering whether Mercedes might have made you feel that extra bit special with other things, I know porsche did a special merchandise kit for the cayman variant where they offered a suitcase full of porsche design accessories, quite interesting if you ask me

Thanks for the input so far :)

If you ask nicely MB dealers may give you some number plate holders with their name on them, if you want a sweat shirt with MB logo on it then you have to pay the full £575

Cheap at half the price Malcolm. Upon collecting mine they gave me one umbrella - went back as faulty - bunch of flowers for the present Mrs A (well I think/hoped they were for her!) a key ring AND a (model) Merc sports car - no rust showing at the moment;)

:D Model Sports car!!! Perfect! Something new that MB might be offering. Let's hope it stays in "mint" condition and doesn't rust away into a small brown mess on your mantlepiece :)

Thanks, keep them coming :)
