I use my c200 auto for my job as a midwife and urgently need a bit of advice.
I have tried reading forums but cannot quite locate my problem and now have no choice but to ask for help

C200 Auto elegance 97- starts first time, every time 58,000 mint.

Driving along all is fine and suddenly there is a lack of power. I put my foot down and gearbox seems to want to change up but don't. Also happens from pull off occasionally, won't go over 20 mph or so.

Kick down has sometimes produced the backfire noise from the engine but works on the whole. It has the w/s switch and is in "s" mode.

I have to really wait for it to warm up in the morning otherwise it struggles to change gear at about 30 mph

Once its been running for a while its a really nice drive but I am worried if I have to deliver a baby one day and mother has to wait in pain while I get my car fixed lol

please help me

Hi & Welcome,

It sounds like the MAF - Airflow Meter failing.
