mirror/indicator lens

Been out this afternoon and just been clipped by someones mirror..,fortunately all thats happened is the plastic lens covering the indicator is broken......i expected seeing the whole mirror casing smashed....not knowing if a new lens could be bought.i looked on the forums and came across a post from dec 2008 from someone with same problem,have sourced a new lens plus indicators as it is a whole unit......£18.50 from MB/Chesterfield............can anyone give me a bit of advice on fitting please,any help welcome.........many thanks........paul

They cost about £17 and easy to fit,,if you would like the instructions please ask

Thanks for that Malcolm,i actually edited my post and have sourced one from MB,not a bad price for a whole unit compromising lights too,i would have been happy just paying that for the lens cover as i expected a lot more expense.YES i would like the instructions..........thankyou.......paul...

Hi chris,bought my new lens/indicator unit on friday cost £21.60 inclusive of vat,the workshop foreman at MB/Chesterfield kindly fitted it for me while i was there...(free)....and did just what instructions from Malcolm described other than removing the mirror glass,folded the mirror back,pressed in retaining clip and pulled the cover off .....the cover had to be wriggled about quite a bit to work its way off,just two screws holding indicator unit on.....can e-mail you instructions Malcolm kindly sent me just in case he's out .......these are for E-class w211...they will probably be different for sprinter so if he does see this you may get those also. still it will give you an idea,if your mirrors do not fold the mirror glass may have to be removed........paul
