Hi

I have just purchased a 2000 ml 320, great car just have one problem, when you accelerate hard it has pretty much no power at all. I plugged in a fault code reader in and it brought up random/multiple cylinder misfire detected, Also it brought up cylinder 4,5 and 6 cylinder misfire. Rest of time it drives fine, does use alot of fuel. I wasnt expecting it to be great on petrol but i am getting 160 miles from 3/4 of a tank. Any help would be great, this is my first mercedes so dont know much about them. Personally i would of thought it could be either coils, ht leads or spark plugs if not all of these, only other thing i can think of is injectors maybe? the car has got quite a good service history most of which is from mercedes themselfs. thanks in advance for any help

chris.

Cylinders 4,5,6 are all on the same bank so it suggests a problem common to that side of the engine.
I'd be looking at lambda, cat or air leak.
If you bought from a dealer take it back and have them sort it under warranty.
