My recently acquired 1989 190 2.0 carb car misfires for a short time after a luke warm start. Almost as if the choke is staying on too long. It is hard to drive for a couple of minutes and then is fine. It does not happen after a cold start - How can I fix this? please help

I was talking to my Indy about this yesterday and he said they used cheap steel from Russia
This should 100% be a recall
Surly it’s only a matter of time before someone gets really hurt or worse

I have never owned a petrol engined Mercedes mine having all been diesel, but 90% of the posts referring to misfires on the earlier cars I read on this forum always turn out to be damp in the distributor cap ..once the engine is part warm it turns to steam and plays havoc causing shorting inside the cap/ rotor arm.

Only when aftermarket caps are fitted without the outter covers on them..
Maybe on 190s but on r129s they do it irrespective of cap brand. The cure us to remove the undershield and cover the back with silicone grease.

As others have said, replace the distributor cap and makes sure the seal is in place properly.
