It being a nice, if a tad nippy, today, I thought I'd have a go at the irritating display that's been getting worse of late on me W210.
Used the guide on here at:
http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=25872
and the LCD repair .pdf from the Other Side.
Took about an hour, and a bit of trial and error on fixing the ribbon connectors, but I now have a perfect temp display and clock. Still have a couple of dead squared on the gear indicator, but I can't seem to get it fully restored, and I can live with it fine as is.
it's not a tricky job - the thing is pretty robust and common sense handling is all that's required. Plus replaced a blown back light bulb while I was at it, so all in all a good little bit of work.
Easily a Scotch earner for this evening I'd say - especially if it's going to be minus 5 again, as it was here last night!
So thanks for the info everyone - that's £150+ saved!
