had these fitted in October as an alternative full winter tyres

They are good and certainly worth the extra cost in this winter weather

Good traction and grip

The are about 20% more than conti sport contact 5 but worth the difference for peace of mind!

I've had them on my E320 for a couple of years now. Wouldn't have anything else. They are just brilliant in this weather.

they feel drive and sound like normal tyres except they gip when its cold and in the snow...
the worse feature was wet braking but that was fixed for 2017 with the cross climate plus

but the crooks are asking quite a price for them now, auto express rated then better than the goodyear all season vector 4 (which used to smash the original cross climate)

Tried to get Michelin cross climate but could only get them for front not rear, went for uniroyal rain sport instead better than summer tyres but a bit noisy.

On etyres they are £20 more than the Michelin Primacy3, which doesn't feel like too much of a difference to me. Mind you none of the Michelins for our car are exactly cheap - CrossClimate+ = £183 each...
We will still be getting them when our current Goodyears Eagles wear out though.

The RS3 is a summer tyre...

(But they are quite good in snow).

I know the rain sport are summer tyres but they have chunky tread and apart from going to winter tyres it was the next best thing.

If you have the space in you garage then a second set of winter tyres is your best option. I have been on winter tyres on both cars for the last 10 years. I fit winter tyres Oct-Apr & about half my millage is on winter tyres.
Get the smallest wheel width wheel you can for winter tyres. Extra down weight & cheaper tyres.
Summer tyres in winter wear considerably faster than wider tyres.
When you sell the car there is a big demand on eBay for MB winter wheels & tyres.

For the amount of bad weather we get I can’t justify buying another set of wheels with winter tyres.

Don't look at in terms of just snow , a cheap set of winter wheels and tyres have distinct safety advantages below 7 degrees c and make your usually more expensive summer tyres last twice as long .
