mixing oils?

is it ok to mix semi-synth and mineral? i have semi in the moment, but wanted to top up with mineral ... is this a definite no-no?

Actually, in your case, as your engine was not designed to absolutely require synthetic, it will be OK to mix the two oils. However, the performance of the mixture will be degraded in proportion to the amount of mineral oil that you add.

In anycase, semi-synthetic can contain as little as 10% synthetic in the first-place, so I would not worry.

i asked the question when i didn't know the answer. that would be the purpose of asking. after i had asked the question here i did some research elsewhere. then when i found the answer elsewhere i posted it here (you still with me, SL? i know it can be hard for some people to concentrate for more than a few seconds).
