Ml 270 53plate auto rev's up and down @ 60 70 mph

hi all . could anyone tell me the problem i'm getting when i do 60 - 70mph on the motorway and the engine rev's go up and down. Rev the car and it clears then bak to 70 its bak again!

Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

I presume that bak is yewer sperllang of back.

The use of oddball abreviations makes it very difficult for people with english as second language, please don't forget that this site is accessible worldwide.

Thanks for the reply . I have had the oil changed as it's done 100000 miles . Any more ideas welcome .

whats the colour of the existing oil of the gearbox?

Not sure about the colour as MB did the service.

Get your vehicle put on a diagnostic machine and get the fault codes read.

check the big pipe from intercooler to egr, on right hand side of enigine bay could have a hole in it, you will notice oily residue, seen this before causing revs to fluctuate, give this a check,

Checking the pipe sounds like a good idea . I think i'll try that then if no fault found its down to MB i think. I'll let you know the out come cheers.
