ML 270 cdi stuck in park

Hi there,

I have a 2000 Mercedes ML270 cdi, but it has just started getting stuck in park. I'm currently curing the problem by sticking a biro down the hole at the bottom of the selector to get it out of park. However, I would prefer a more permanent solution.

Any ideas anyone??

Didn't Helen have a similar problem? Can't recall what the gizmo was called, but it was an electro-mechanical switchy thingy. Sorry for the technical terms

There are a few things for this Jez, from the steering lock cable, the gear shift ecu and the ignition switch,,I am looking around on this

h there just had the same problem with my 2002 ml replaced brake light switch above pedal 11 quid from local mb stealer easy job (even i could do it) quoted nearly 120.00 from local stealer

A lot of money can be saved on many jobs, just by having a go, £120 not bad is it, thats more than I used to earn per hour
