Hi all i have recently done some engine work on the car replacing the exhaust manifold gasket now when i leave the car over night and start it in the morning it fires then cuts out then turns over for a while the runs ok (not road tested yet) it seems that the diesel is running back somehow , when you rev the engine from under the bonnet i can see the odd few bubbles of air in the pipe coming from the fuel filter to the engine (is this normal)i have now changed the fuel filter and this has not solved the problem has anyone any ideas where or what the problem could be cheers guys

Air in fuel

Hi,

I had a similar problem chased it all over nd changed fuel pipes. Seems the fuel filter housings are cr*p and leak unless very tight. I put an extra O ring on mine and it sorted it. I'm about to replace it with a remote one from something simple, like a tractor.
