Hi this is the conclusion to the thread

I had three injectors leaking two of which came out easily
The third No one nearest rad was stuck / seized in

So I had to make an extraction tool with 3 Kgs slide hammer see pic's
Then I needed to clean the location bore for the injector

So I made a 3 diameter reamer see pic's

Then I needed to re-cut the seat in the cylinder head so using the reamer as a guide bush made a spot facing tool to re-cut the seat see pic's

Then I needed to re-machine the injector mating face so I back turned it in my lathe and polished the diameter to aid the extraction next time no pic's for this one

Re- assembled with new copper seal, new bolt, and copper slip along the full length of the injector it went back a treat

Then set of for Kent 600 mile round trip with no problems better MPG more power more acceleration

This job set me back £2.73:D:D:D:cool:

leaky injector

I know this is a dumb question but how do get the small pipe off the top of the injector it has a clip, but after you take it off the rest doesn't budge?

Is the best away to get them out still lossen them and drive down the road a bit?

Cheers

Take the clip out and the pipe will pull out.

Hi there,

I have this issue with my 4th injector (some modifications - had to be made with the bolt last time)

I recut the seats on my ml270 please can anyone advice if this is a good enough cut (please see picture attached - noticed there is some tiny bits of crud that needs to be removed after photo has been taken)

but when I put her back together it spits ever so slightly out the left hand side of the injector (bolt facing at the front when looking at the injector)

Admittedly I have used the old clamp (I have purchased a new modified one and its on it way in case this is the problem)

Is there anyway or tool I can use in order to check the seat is cut at the correct angle the injector sits? or if the seat is level enough (looks perfect to me when viewing it at the top)

Cheers guys

PLS PLS HELP!!!

Please please help before I smash this f**king car to bits!

(I have spent loads of money on her and a lot of my time sortings loads of the common problems especially the inlet manifold -delete)

Just got the nack of doing the injector seals (started to clean everything up so I can take all of my injector out until I discovered this little whole by the clamp)

Do I stop now? smash it to bits? scrap it? or would it be ok still?
(Thirdly do I have to by a rocker cover?)

If I do need to by a rocker cover do you have to take the injectors out to remove this or what needs removing?

(please find attached picture)

If you have made a hole in the rocker cover then yes you will have to replace it.

1. Remove injectors
2. Remove rocker cover
3. Ensure all the injector bores are clean and seats as you want them
4. Replace rocker cover but do not tighten it fully
5. As you have cut the seats, use a thicker washer (on ebay)
6. Use MB 'special grease' or similar on the injectors and install them
7. Tighten rocker cover to correct torque

A new rocker cover gasket is advisable

Thank you bob

Almost removed my rocker cover just got a majorly stubborn 5th injector doesn't help there's no room with the slide hammer.

Once that's out hopefully the rocker cover will come off

Thank you for your advice
