There was a lot of rattling coming from the back and I went under for a look and found the drop links were removed from the anti roll bar.I checked a buddies ML and found exactly the same thing.Just wondering if anyone knows any reason why they might be missing and is it OK to buy new ones and fit them ?
Thanks

Hi same with one of mine reason would be a weakness regarding the long 8mm bolt that holds the link together, also double up on the 8mm nut (add a lock nut)

I have just encountered the same problem, but both droplinks are missing.
Does any one have a picture of what they should look like or a diagram?
Is the car safe to drive?

drop links anti roll bar

Basically they corrode or snap the bolt if they are cheap euro ones, once one goes all the strain is on the remaining one and it then breaks, safe to drive without just go easy, easy to replace on driveway no jack needed, put one on then other then do both up tight once both in place. If you do one up tight its hard to get the other in place. Use lots of locktight. Go for more expensive ones at euros about £25 each. Cheap ones only last about 8k before snapping.
