ML 270 rear wash wipe

hi i have a ml 270 cdi 2000 x reg and the rear wash wipe has stopped working you can still hear the clicking of power when you press the switch on ,and it still sounds like the motor is still getting power as you can here the clicking on intermitant.Ihave tried another motor on it but still no joy.
Any help would be great.

Hello and welcome to the forum,, the clicking could just be the washer section, have you checked to see if you have 12 volts on the motor when it is turned on

There are 2 motor pumps located on the washer bottle in the engine bay, the plastic inlet/outlet connectors go fragile and break. Cheap to buy new pumps and a few minutes to install, Ive had 3 go over the time I owned the ML (8.5 years).

cheers mate the pumps are fine but the wiper arm doesn't work but you can here power ie clicking of the sender unit to motor when on intermitant.
any ideas???

Sorry, I misunderstood. Never had a problem with the wiper arm so cant really help, other than to advise as per TV, to see if there is 12V on the arm motor. Could be the fuse, or relay (even though its clicking the contacts could have got dirty or gone) or more likely the motor itself, armature / bushes got dirty or bushes worn out.
