ML 270cdi 2004 Brake Lights not working?

Please can somebody advise me as to solving my lack of brake lights on my 2004 ML, thay have all ceased to work (motor has been stood for 6 weeks). I changed one bulb but like expected it is not the bulbs that are at fault. I would welcome some direction.......thanks in advance.

try the stop light switch, fitted to top of brake pedal, worth a try for a few quid,

2nd mb tech there, brake light switch all day long, about 8 quid a shot!

thanks for the info.......purchased the brake light switch.....removed the cover under the dash to reveal the top of the pedals but I cannot see anything that resembles the switch?!.....any pointers would be welcomed!?

there are a few models out there where the brake light work of pressure in the abs unit, if yours has one it will be in front of the pedal with two plugs in it, if you havent got one you see a hole with two squares on the sides, thats where it should be, if thats the case its controlled be the abs/esp unit, thats sounding like money!!
