Ml 430 Steering Fluid

Can anyone advise how I check fluid level please?

Have a faint noise on the steering and I have had this before on other cars when level gets low.

The fluid resovoir is at the front right of the engine as you look at it, half under the engine cover, just lift it up to get access.
