looking for a bit of help. Installed a tow bar on my ml 250bluetech. I have got a bypass relay and wired up and the only thing I can’t get working is the brake lights any help would be appreated. Cheers
if you have fitted a 7 way by pass relay, it will have to have a feed from the brake lights to activate the trailer ones. I think it just uses the feed as a trigger to put power through.
When i did the tow bar on my W163, i fitted the 7 way relay and was lucky enough to find the Mercedes fitted plug, so used the feeds from there, and just put a fuse in the spare place in the fusr box that sends a live feed to the plug.
I have a direct feed to relay and tapped into driver side light. As per instructions on relay it says to just use brake wire as it will feed side lights and they work but just no brake lights.
