if its the same electric mirror (type with indicator in) it should fit and work. I do not think the passenger side has a door lock (stand to be corrected) meaning a key access. If it does not, do not think the door solenoids would be a programmed thing, however, cant be that difficult to swap them over. You will have to do the door trim i suspect, or maybe not if identical to yours.
If you are painting the bumper with rattle cans, you could try plastic welding with a soldering iron ?, practise on old bumper first perhaps.
yes same mirror, same trim, no lock, so hopefully straightforward,
saw a video on soldering iron to weld , so an 'alternative'

I’ve successfully welded plastic with off-cuts and a soldering iron. Just lined up the crack, ground out the inside with a Dremel then uses the iron to heat the sides and melt the off-cut into the bevelled edge I’d made on the inside.
Think access with plastic frame behind bumper would make it hard to do in situ,
will give the plumbers joint glue that melts a try first and go from there

just a thought, but is the air filter end of turbo pipe same diameter as Turbo end
worth a look at , and maybe egr pipe, lets face it got plenty of pipes to choose from having a spare car!

Another thought to put out there, if I take the 2 recon injectors out(can see they are nice and new looking) and replace my 2 injectors that have slightly higher leakoffs,,, will the car be noticeable 'worse' while driving around before getting them coded into ecu,,
One of the reasons I ask is that Ive had a couple of rextons with the merc 2.7 engine(different head and Delphi injectors) in and
rebuilt second hand injectors and never had them coded into ecu, the rexton uk site gives a method of driving over a certain mileage at certain speeds etc in order for ecu to 'learn' for want of a better word the new injectors, I did this on a few occasions I was messing around with Chinese injector parts ,before using genuine Delphi control valves and nozzles , BUT, I never had any issues with poor running or any worse mpg, maybe theres a big difference between Delphi and bosch injectors that require bosch to be coded ???????

Did some tank to tank around town mpg's and got 22mph, just did 300miles on motorway tank to tankfull got 28mpg, any thoughts on whether 28mpg is ok , was only doing between 55-65 mph was expecting more mpg, still think I may have injector problem as I see more grey smoke than I expect on tickover etc..... next job swap 2 recon injectors from spare car and make a start on repairing spare front bumper, Happy new year ,looking forward to it !!

Seems a bit low, would expect early 30's for that speed

I did a top to top test over a 300 mile journey, it was nearly all motorway, I used cruise as much as I could and did not exceed 60mph. Got 38 mpg, which I thought was really good for something shaped like a brick.
Normal about town driving backwards and forwards to work I get about 30 mpg, may be a couple less.but my commute does involve decent roads and I never got traffic due to the times I travel.

Those are the figures I seem to remember from my last ml270, so will hopefully improve as I sort/try things out, Time will tell.

Decided to split the damaged bumper from the inner frame with the help of gas powered mini blowtorch on the dremmel , worked well heated up and cut off with stanley knife , some peeled off easily showing neat square tab, so definately plastic welded tabs, should be easy enough to re attach, all lower screw fixings rusted solid , so drilled out.
Makes the repairs a bit easier, going to try the plumbers solvent weld on back of bumper to see if it works the same as plastic pipe joints, hope so will make life a bit easier when reinforcing and joining cracks from the back 20191228_154252.jpg 20191228_154252.jpg 20191228_154259.jpg

Solvent weld didnt work so ordered fibreglass repair kit of fleabay,
Did try a bit of coffee cup lid on back of bumper with heat and sticks well so will use that to resattache all the bumper lugs etc 20191229_121332.jpg

I saw a video on ebay where you lay some wire mesh over the area to repair and melt it into the plastic with a soldering iron.

example -

watched same or similar video on fb I think, but already ordered fibreglass repair kit (to reinforce back of cracks) with 1litre of resin fairly cheap off ebay, so will do bumper and have spare for use another day, 30 odd bumper tabs will just use heat and spare plastic bits to lock them in place.

I know it's causing a bit more work, but before laying glass fibre, drill a series of 1/8 inch holes so that resin goes through. It can be repaired and sanded on good side.
It will give more strength and not crack again.

Already drilled holes at end of cracks ,so a few more wont hurt !
Did a leak off test on spare injectors all lower than mine so will swop them all over while i am at it

They are relatively low I would say, if I measured them in ml would be between 5 and 10 ml max, funny thing is the two higher readings are the 2 recon injectors !

Have to ask. Do replacement injectors on the ML270 have to be coded to ,ECU. Or set up by STAR

Have to ask. Do replacement injectors on the ML270 have to be coded to ,ECU. Or set up by STAR

I did some digging and came up with this quote from Benzworld.org.

''after our discussion, I went into "scientific" work. Digging WIS for some answers. And yes, you are correct there is a calibration/adaptation for injectors for W203, W204, W210 & W211. This new feature was not included in W163 CDI2 control module. ML270 doesn't need/have that facility. It is plug & play''

This would confirm my early post where I said changed and reconditioned my injectors several times on a rexton 270(merc 270 eng) and did no star coding , the car behaved and had no difference in mpg etc before and after.
However I am sure someone will prove this to be incorrect,
The proof of the pudding is in the eating so as soon as I get round to changing all the injectors( could be a little while yet) I will post new mpg figures etc.
